Churches often have a main congregation and many subgroups such as: Children/Youth ministries, Elder ministries, kitchen, classes/courses, missionary/outreach programs, auxiliary events, and more.
This church has chosen to begin each subgroup with “CII”, so that the subgroups all appear adjacent to one another in the group list.
One main group is ideal for the whole congregation to share church-wide News, Resources, and contact information.
In a larger group like this, it is likely that one or more people do not own a mobile device or the BeLooped application. These people can still be part of the group as Private or Visible members (managed by other people) for contact reference.
One reason to create subgroups is to create relevant focused Resource pages.
A resource page for the main group may include listings of congregation members’ businesses or contact information for church elders, while the resource tab for the Kitchen subgroup may list preferred suppliers, or procedure manuals.
Tip: While some groups will be long-lived, new groups can also be created to help organize one-time specific events – something that happens regularly with faith-based organizations – these are easily disbanded once the event is complete.
News articles are used for clear and frequent communication or announcements such as: deviations from the regular schedule, special events (births, weddings, prayer requests, charities), newsletter content, reading lists for study groups, and more.
When writing longer articles, using BeLooped with an iPad (and external keyboard) is a great time-saver.
